Ingredients for potato dumplings

Potatoes: 6 pieces

Oil: 2 tablespoons

 Chopped dill: 2 tbsp

Flour: 4 cups

Sugar: 1 teaspoon

Salt: 1 teaspoon

Instant yeast: 1 tsp

Hot water: 1 and 1/2 glasses

Butter: 3 tablespoons

 Onion: 1 piece

 Olive oil: 1 tablespoon

Sometimes, in addition to hot potatoes and onions, vegetables such as dill or grated cheese are added to the ingredients in the dumpling. Most of the time, a donut is fried in oil. 

But it can also be prepared in the oven. We will tell you both methods here. French fries are crispier. But preparing it in the oven consumes less oil and can be said to be healthier. 1- Preparing mashed potatoes

Peel a squash, grate it and put it in a saucepan. Add water to cover the potatoes. Put the pot on medium heat to cook the potatoes. Then beat the potatoes until soft.

2- Add hot onion and butter

Pour the butter and olive oil into the pan and place over a gentle heat. Add the chopped onion and fry until the onion is soft and golden. Then mix the hot onion and butter mixture with the potatoes. Add a little chopped dill. Mix and set aside.


3- Preparing potato donut dough

To prepare the dough, pour the dry yeast into a bowl and add hot water. Mix and set aside for 5 minutes. Then add oil and a mixture of flour, salt and sugar and mix by hand to get a soft dough. Put the dough in a greased bowl. Cover the dish with nylon and rest in a warm place for 30 minutes. Then knead the dough a little and let it rest for another 1 hour.

4- Wrapping a donut

Sprinkle flour on the work surface and place the dough on the work surface and divide it into equal pieces. Roll out the dough in the palm of your hand and put some potato yeast in the dough and fold the dough in half. Glue the edges of the dough together by hand.
